Assemble at the air port for your flight to "Formosa Island", Taiwan. Then, transfer to Taoyuan Night Market for a night of feasting on Taiwan's street snacks. You'll also get to browse through the wide range of products sold, from clothes and accessories to leather goods and lifestyle items.
After breakfast, visit Zhudong Market, the largest Hakka traditional market in Taiwan, and uncover a trove of delicious, traditional Hakka food. Then, try your hand at strawberry picking at Dahu Strawberry Cultural Center, where you'll also find exhibits and displays, specialty strawberry products, a gift shop and a restaurant offering all sorts of strawberry cuisine. After that, proceed to Schokolake Country House. Enjoy a special DIY workshop where you can make your own chocolate, explore the Chocolate Story Museum and enjoy a Chocolate 3D theater experience.
Begin the day by making your way to Longteng Bridge, a masterpiece of Taiwan's railway history. Learn about the events behind the former bridge and the remaining bridge piers, before heading to Tu-Niu Hakka Cultural Museum for an enlightening insight into the origin of Hakka culture and the stories of the early Hakka settlers in Shigang. Next, proceed to Lingdan (Zero Egg) Platform and 3D interactive painted wall. Then, continue on to Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung, where you may opt for an optional ride on the one and only waterfront Ferris wheel in Taiwan. End the day with a visit to Fengjia Night Market, where you can indulge in some shopping or sample the wide variety of street snacks offered here.
After breakfast, visit an Aboriginal Shop before dropping by Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan's largest lake located in the foothills of the Central Mountain Range. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride across the lovely blue expanse of Sun Moon Lake as you bask in the beauty of the natural surroundings. Continue on to visit the Rosie Family — Nantou Cat Bank and enjoy a teatime break here. After that, proceed to Yizhong Street Night Market for an insight into Taichung's young and trendy culture.
Start with a visit to the unique and historic Changhua Railway Roundhouse, the only remaining railway roundhouse depot in Taiwan. Next, head to Lukang Old Street, a well-preserved alleyway filled with traditional Taiwanese houses that is similarly famous for its nostalgic flavours and cuisine. Thereafter, proceed to Hsinchu Green World Ecological Farm, a large-scale ecological farm which combines the natural ecology of animals and plants with leisure, education and recreation. Then, enjoy a round of shopping at Taipei Night Market.
Kick off the day by visiting Yangmingshan National Park, a cherry blossom viewing hotspot. After that, proceed to See-Join Puppet Theater for a special lunch along with a local hand puppet performance. Next, try out a Mochi DIY experience before visiting Ximending Youth Shopping District.
Note: Cherry blossom viewing is subject to weather conditions. Should it be cancelled, it will be replaced with visits to Yangmingshan Flower Clock and Hsiaoyoukeng.
After breakfast, drop by the Tian Lu Arts Centre before proceeding to explore Jiu Fen Old Street. Next, hop on the Pingxi Railway Line — one of three narrow-gauge railways built since the Japanese era for the purpose of transporting coal, fora unique train ride. Afterwards, join in the fun and amazing visual spectacle of the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival, where hundreds of sky lanterns are released at the same time along the railway tracks in celebration of the new year. Aside from the lantern releases, the festival also features folk performances, lantern riddle contests and street folk carnivals, ensuring a night of festive fun for one and all!
